November: Social Media Cannabis Properties To Watch
Cannabis consumers love engaging with their favorite brands, activities, and friends online. As the industry surrounding the plant continues to creep into the mainstream, high follower counts and solid web and social media strategy are becoming increasingly vital for consumer engagement.
Every month, the industry’s major players are being scrutinized, ranked and defined by their reach and cross-platform engagement.
Released November 17, the newest installment of monthly reporting from Awesomepova Research builds on last month’s analysis, showing how the industry’s most recognized digital brands grew during the month of October. The Awesomepova Social Media Traction Report measures progressive monthly traction of user side cannabis software in popular social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as related platforms like YouTube, Google PlayStore and the App Store. Kristina Dewald holds a summa cum laude Masters degree in management and is currently taking a second masters in integrated marketing at NYU.

Executive Summary
This research shows the relative popularity of certain user-side software applications in the cannabis sector as reflected in social media. There are 43 companies in this report. All data are from November 7, 2015. This month we initiated coverage of AllBud and Links of Green. All the statistics for website metrics are taken from Alexa.com.
NEWS OF THE MONTH
WeedMaps’ Instagram account was deleted and a new one started, resulting in low numbers this month.
HighThere updated its iOS app on October 13, 2015.
WeedMaps updated its Android app on November 6, 2015.
High There updated its Android app on October 14, 2015.
THIS MONTH’S LEADERS
MassRoots leads in Instagram followers, Twitter followers and on Facebook chatter (most people are talking about it).
THCFinder leads in Facebook likes.
Weedmaps leads in YouTube views and subscribers, iOS app reviews, and Android app downloads.
Leafly leads on Google+ views and subscribers, Android app reviews, has largest number of sites linking to it.
BlazeNow leads both on Website page views per visitor and Daily time on site.
THIS MONTH’S MOVERS
Upside: BlazeNow, Cashinbis, Eaze, LeafBuyer, MeadowCare.
BlazeNow increased its daily time on website by 338% and website Page Views were up 243%.
Cashinbis was 51% up this month in Instagram, in total gained 7,089 followers, also had growth 50% in Facebook and reached 91,610 page likes.
Eaze’s android app reached 50,000 downloads, that makes it 400% more than in September.
MeadowCare had a growth in Youtube Views from 333 to 15,590 views month over month, that is a 4,583% increase.
Leaf Buyer (166,678) was up 29% in Google+ views.
Downside: Budfolio, HighThere, THCFinder.
Budfolio (3.51) had a decrease of 21% the time on website spent by users.
HighThere (142) lost 6% of number of websites linking.
THCFinder website’s statistics on daily page views dropped by 7%.

Instagram (followers)
Rising: Cashinbis had the biggest growth for this month, which is 51%. Their account is followed by 7,089 followers.
BlazeNow (4,125) grew number of its followers 20%.
MassRoots had a growth of 15% this month; their account had 326,000 followers this month.
Leafly had a 10% increase. It was followed by 70,500 users.
KushCommon also increased by 6%, to 14,900 followers. PotBox grew 4% month over month, giving them a total of 4,177 followers this month.
Budfolio (4,728) increased by 1%.
Falling: Whaxy (7,093) followers decreased this month by 2%.
CannaSOS (4,149) and Leaf Buyer (4,987) followers decreased by 1%.
Facebook (likes)
Rising: Cashinbis was 50% up this month, in total showing 91,610 page likes.
MassRoots had growth of 33% that in total shows 158,740 likes.
WeedMaps was up to 5% (108,603).
Leafly had growth of 3% (63,197).
WeedDepot is up to 1% (17,888).

Twitter (followers)
Rising: MassRoots (134,871) had the biggest growth in Twitter followers of 9%.
Leafly (34,226) and Whaxy (5,813) were up 7%.
Eaze (7,429) and KushCommon (45,331) up 4%.
Weedmaps (53,498) grew 3%. SpeedWeed (12,021) was up 2%.
THCFinder (8,126) and BestBuds (6,396) were up to 1% respectively.

Rising: MeadowCare (15,590) had more than 15,000 in October views showing very big growth from just 333 views in September.
Leafly (1,582,443) and Eaze (14,079) received 18% more views.
MassRoots (9,594) had 16% growth in views.
LeafBuyer (27,276) was up 5%.
FlowKana (9,160) was up 3%.
GrowBuddy (33,012) and WeedMaps (24,609,260) were up 2%.
