He’s one of those rarities who not only wears his heart on his sleeve, but he truly cares for the betterment of our world. Lew Seebinger, founder of Seebinger Hemp, is an astounding example of how you can effectively pour your compassion into a company and make it thrive! He is dedicated to being unique, spreading a positive message about the plant, and healing his customers. He lives by the words, “Life is short, make the best of it!” and he definitely is making the best of it as well as making the world a better place with a superior line of hemp products made with unique ingredients.
What was the deciding factor for you to join this particular industry?
Before becoming part of the hemp industry, I was in a prominent position at a healthcare company here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was called ACC Healthcare and they were responsible for caring for the medical and dental needs of the National Guard and readying them for deployment. I was with this company for quite a few years and came to decide that I wanted to return to my entrepreneurial roots and look into the upcoming industry.
I first began looking at the legal cannabis industry and started seeing how delivery services were much more in demand than dispensaries, but my family did not want to be in that particular part of the business, so I ventured onward until I came upon hemp. I turned to this industry for all that it had to offer to the future of cannabis. We’ve been in business for about 2-1/2 years and I’ve been learning something new every day since we started. We’re moving forward with everything we’re doing and we’ve developed some pretty wonderful products.
What skills from your previous experiences helped you in what you are doing now?
I would pinpoint the largest sum of my experience being when my family and I started the Seebringer Water Company in the 1970s, which we later rebranded and sold as the Crystal Springs Bottled Water Company. I took an idea, started the business, managed the operations, grew the business, and then sold it. This was definitely my biggest achievement in being an entrepreneur!
Right now, where are you guiding your passion and energy towards?
Right now, we are busy formulating and testing our new, natural, CBD-rich hemp cream which we are infusing with four different strengths of highly concentrated CBD. There are constantly new studies surfacing about the benefits of CBD, so I strongly feel that our products will help people in many ways. We are focused on bettering our society’s health and are committed to creating products that have the power to do just that! Aside from our CBD cream, we also have anything ranging from shampoos, lotions, lip balms, massage oils, and of course, our red and green chile balms. Our customers are always returning to us with positive feedback and that our products helped them with their conditions, whether that be eczema, arthritis, acne, etc. which is just wonderful!

Describe your work ethic to me in one word.

What do you consider your weakness as an entrepreneur? Your strength?
I would say my weakness really is being a serial entrepreneur, but what can I say, it runs in the family… my grandfather, my grandmother, my father, my brother, and my sister! It’s my weakness, but it’s in my blood! I find that my strength lies in securing the vision and the purpose of what we’re doing, which is to improve the world in our own unique way.
How are you differentiating yourself from the competition?
We create unique products made from the highest quality ingredients on the market. Every one of our products is natural and derived from the hemp plant. Now, with our latest product, the red and green chile balm, we are also infusing with oil made from all-natural sun-dried Hatch New Mexico chiles, which is local to our company.
We are constantly seeking to promote our brand, spread the message of hemp, and give our products to people that they can help. We’ve become very well-known in the New Mexico area, but we are definitely hoping to bring what we’re doing to the rest of the world as well.
How do you find inspiration in this industry? What have you found that has inspired you?
My inspiration comes from helping people. We’re coming across new stories every day about out how much cannabis and hemp is helping people with cancer, PTSD, and other serious diseases and we’re finding out how CBD is for conditions like sclerosis, too. In the end, the inspiration comes from the people who this plant is helping and continuing to bring awareness to the world about how great of a plant cannabis really is.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
It comes from my dad and that is, “Do what you love, life is short, make the best of it!”
Where do your great ideas come from?
They come from ALL around me! Everyone I surround myself with are very uplifting and optimistic and they are always looking at how they can improve themselves and be better, which is very inspiring and beneficial to my ideas. My family has also been great in supporting my entrepreneurial spirit and my outgoing ideas. Their support means everything to me.
What is important to you – mission, vision, or core values? Why?
I believe all of the above! Our mission is really important to us as it encompasses creating employment opportunities and helping people who are suffering from their various conditions. That’s really what we want to do. We want to see our farmers be able to grow hemp. We want to see our prisons not as full of people who are charged with misdemeanors or petty offenses involving cannabis consumption. We want to see all the great things that can come from the plant! That’s really what I want to see and that’s the end result we’re all working for.

What will we be seeing from you and Seebinger Hemp in the coming future?
Initially, you will be seeing us come out with some new branding, a new website, and also be setup for Amazon Prime so that our customers can experience the fastest shipping. Aside from that, we are also expanding into new products that will really be great for people’s health and that’s again, our main purpose. The hemp plant is going to make the world a better place and we are proud to be a part of it.
